Старейшая сохранившаяся церковь в г. Бостоне, шт. Массачусетс, в районе Норт-Энд [North End]. Была построена в 1723 и стала второй по счету епископальной церковью города. Ее официальное название - церковь Христа [Christ Church], а горожане часто называют ее Северной старушкой ["Old North"]. Колокола церкви были отлиты в Англии в 1744. С церковью Христа связан один из эпизодов Войны за независимость [Revolutionary War]. Ночью 18 апреля 1775 бостонец Р. Ньюмен [Newman, Robert] вывесил на церкви два фонаря, тем самым предупреждая условным сигналом, что англичане подходят к Лексингтону и Конкорду [Lexington and Concord] со стороны моря. Тогда П. Ревир [Revere, Paul] вскочил на коня и отправился предупредить об этом минитменов [Minuteman]. Ныне церковь входит в состав Бостонского национального исторического заповедника [Boston National Historical Park]. На площади перед ней - бронзовая конная статуя Ревира. Копии фонарей вывешиваются на церкви в День патриотов [Patriots' Day] в апреле, а один из подлинных фонарей выставлен в Музее антиквариата [Antiquarian Museum] в г. Конкорде.
